I was once in a meeting with esteemed US sports betting guru Kenny and White and we were discussing this exact question with delegates from a major European betting company. When asked what was the key component in being a successful sports bettor, we both answered simultaneously: selectivity. Put simply, the bookmaker must price up every event if they are to provide the long tail of betting events and markets which their customers have come to expect.
